VoLTE stands for Voice over Long Term Evolution (LTE ) or as its friends call it, 4G or 5G.
VoLTE allows you to make HD calls from your mobile using the 2degrees 4G/5G network that we leverage. Basically, when you make a voice call over VoLTE, you connect quicker and enjoy a clearer connection with reduced background noise.

All you need is a VoLTE capable device and to be within our coverage area. The service does have some limitations in poor coverage areas.
Android devices have VoLTE automatically turned on. If you need to manually turn VoLTE on your Android phone for any reason, just follow the steps below:
- Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile networks > Toggle VoLTE Calls ‘ON’
At this stage, iPhones only have a basic VoLTE capability which you'd need to enable manually. To manually turn VoLTE on your iPhone, use the steps below:
- Go to Settings > Mobile > Mobile Data Options> Voice and Data > Toggle VoLTE ‘ON’
If you’re using a phone that isn’t on our list of VoLTE-compatible devices, we won't be able to say for sure if it would work with VoLTE with Kiwi Mobile.
Worldwide, our network partners supporting roaming are decommissioning their 2G and 3G networks. This step is aimed at releasing frequency spectrum and network resources for their 4G and 5G networks. As a result, when you roam in countries where 2G and 3G have been retired, you must make sure of the following:
