Wi-Fi Mesh Extender Setup

Set up your new TP-Link Wi-Fi mesh extender for better coverage at home.

Just follow the steps below to get your mesh satellite connected to your modem.

What’s in the box?

- TP-Link HB210 Wi-Fi mesh extender
B - Ethernet Cable
- Power cable

Power it up

  • Plug the power adapter into the round power port on the back of the Wi-Fi mesh extender and turn the power on at the wall.
  • You can pair this Wi-Fi mesh extender with your modem in one of three ways:
  • Ethernet/cable (hardwired): See steps in the next tile.
  • Aginet App: Details below.
  • WPS button: On both the extender and modem (details below).

Pair with ethernet

Option 1

  • Connect the supplied ethernet cable into the LAN port on the modem and the WAN/LAN port on the Wi-Fi mesh extender.
  • Wait 2 minutes for the Wi-Fi mesh extender to pair with the modem. The front LED light on the Wi-Fi mesh extender will go green once connected.

Pair with app

Option 2

Download and install the Aginet App using the QR code in your box, the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Then, follow the steps on the next tile.

Once the app is downloaded

  • Open the app and press the “+” button at the top right-hand corner of the app.
  • Select “Add Agent” and then select “Mesh Device”.
  • Select “LED is flashing blue”. Ensure that the LED is flashing blue; if not, reset the Wi-Fi mesh extender.
  • The app will discover the Wi-Fi mesh extender. When it finds it, select “Add as Agent”. The LED will turn solid green once connected.

WPS button pairing

Option 3

  • Press the WPS button on the Wi-Fi mesh extender, then press the WPS button on the modem. Make sure to press both buttons within 2 minutes of each other.
  • The extender LED will flash blue for 3 minutes, then turn solid green when connected.

Positioning your mesh unit

Once the satellite is paired, you can move it to an appropriate place in your house.

Ideally, this would be an area above the floor, away from obstructions or electronics.

Flashing blue Wi-Fi extender is ready for set up

Solid green Wi-Fi extender is set up and connected

Flashing red Wi-Fi extender has lost connection

Product Care & Safety

  • Do not cover extender or restrict airflow to vents.
  • Do not place the extender in direct sunlight or heat.
  • Do not tamper with or open the extender.
  • Please keep it away from moisture and water.
