1. Promotional special terms – Guaranteed savings (power only)
Effective from 20 August 2020 to 13 July 2023
These special terms apply to any of our customers who became Electric Kiwi customers while this promotion is live (Guaranteed Customers).
1.1. To be eligible for Guaranteed Savings for a property, you must provide us with a Prior Bill, the Prior Bill must:
- Be either for the same property address or the same account name
- Be dated within 60 days of the date Electric Kiwi first starts billing you for electricity used
- For a period covering no less than 7 days
- Showing the same Low or Standard User plan configuration
- Be for a comparable fixed rate plan, we are unable to provide guaranteed savings against spot (wholesale) price plans
- Provided within 30 days of the date that Electric Kiwi first starts billing you for electricity used.
1.2. If you are a Guaranteed Customer we guarantee that you will save a minimum of $1 during your first continuous year as our customer at the same property (the Guaranteed Period) compared to the cost you would have paid for electricity during that period based on your Prior Bill calculated by us in accordance with clause 1.3.
1.3. Your Prior Bill will take into account whether you are a standard or low user. If your previous retailer gave you an invoice discount (including prompt payment discounts), we will include your discount in our calculations, but we do not include any discounts provided for bundled or alternative services including but not limited to dual fuel or broadband discounts. If your previous retailer changes pricing during the Guaranteed Period, we may allocate an adjustment to the Prior Bill to reflect the change by your previous retailer.
1.4. If the Prior Bill provided to us by a Guaranteed Customer has multiple consumption (per kWh) rates, we will calculate a single benchmark consumption rate for that Guaranteed Customer based on the consumption weighted averages of these rates.
1.5. The Benchmark Pricing Plan calculated by us will include all Electricity Authority levies passed through to the Guaranteed Customer by their previous retailer.
1.6. If you are a Guaranteed Customer, we will communicate to you, via the My Account section of our website and via our Mobile App the savings you have made at that point in time during the Guaranteed Period for your electricity consumption by switching to Electric Kiwi, compared to your Prior Bill.
1.7. If you are a Guaranteed Customer, at the end of the Guaranteed Period, your savings (when compared to your applicable Prior Bill) are less than $1, we will, subject to clause 1.8, credit your account with the difference between your actual savings and $1. Guaranteed Savings account credit is non-transferable and not redeemable for cash.
1.8. We will not be required to make any payments under clause 1.7 if:
- we reasonably believe that the rates shown on your Prior Bill are not genuine; or
- at the end of the Guaranteed Period, your account is overdue by 30 days or more.
1.9. The Guarantee does not apply if you cease to be our customer during the Guaranteed Period.
2. Promotional special terms – First month free (broadband only)
Effective from 31 July 2023 to 31 October 2023.
2.1. This offer is only available to new broadband customers that joined us from 1 July 2023 who are on the Kiwi or MoveMaster electricity plans.
2.2. An existing fibre connection to the property is required.
2.3. We reserve the right to withdraw or amend the offer or offer period at any time.
2.4. A customer is only eligible for this offer once. A customer cannot leave and rejoin and get this offer again.
2.5. The ‘First Month Free’ is limited to the Broadband fees and charges (you will still be required to pay for the fees and charges for Electricity).
2.6. The reference to one month is considered 30.5 days only. This is calculated by taking 365 days and dividing by 12 to get an average monthly charge from a daily rate.
2.7. This offer is in place until 31 October 2023.
2.8. The free month will be applied to your account in the form of a credit against your broadband fees and charges.
2.9. If you leave during your free period a pro rata amount reflecting the applicable number of days left in your free period will be deducted from the credit.
3. Promotional special terms – Two months free (broadband only)
Effective 31 Oct 2023 from to 1 Dec 2023 (see below for prior offer)
3.1. This offer is only available to customers who became Electric Kiwi customers prior to 31 October 2023, and signed up to EK Broadband from 1 November 2023, who are on the Kiwi or MoveMaster electricity plans. Customers who left and rejoined Broadband aren’t eligible to this offer again.
3.2. An existing fibre connection to the property is required.
3.3. We reserve the right to withdraw or amend the offer or offer period at any time.
3.4. A customer is only eligible for this offer once. A customer cannot leave and rejoin and get this offer again.
3.5. The ‘2 Months Free’ is limited to the Broadband fees and charges (you will still be required to pay for the fees and charges for Electricity).
3.6. The reference to 2 months is 60 days.
3.7. This offer is in place until 1 December 2023.
3.8. The 2 free months will be applied to your account in the form of a credit against your broadband fees and charges. The credit will be applied on 1st January 2024.
3.9. If you leave during your free period a pro rata amount reflecting the applicable number of days left in your free period will be deducted from the credit.
Effective from 4 May 2022 to 30 June 2023.
3.1. This offer is available for new broadband connections from 5 May 2022. If you have previously had broadband with us at any time, then this offer is not available to you.
3.2. An existing fibre connection to the property is required.
3.3. We reserve the right to withdraw or amend the offer or offer period at any time.
3.4. A customer is only eligible for this offer once. A customer cannot leave and rejoin and get this offer again.
3.5. ‘Two Months Free’ means your first two months of broadband with us.
3.6. The ‘Two Months Free’ is limited to the Broadband fees and charges (you will still be required to pay for the fees and charges for Electricity).
3.7. The reference to two months is considered 61 days only. This is calculated by taking 365 days and dividing by 12 to get an average monthly charge from a daily rate.
3.8. This offer is in place until 30 June 2023.
3.9. The free month will be applied to your account in the form of a credit against your broadband fees and charges.
3.10. If you leave during your free period a pro rata amount reflecting the applicable number of days left in your free period will be deducted from the credit.
4. Win 12 months free Broadband
Effective from 1 November 2022 until 30 November 2022.

4.1. We are providing 12 months free broadband to one existing Electric Kiwi power customer who switches to Electric Kiwi broadband in the month of November 2022.
4.2. The 12 months is made up of the current 2 months free broadband as outlined in section 3 of our current promotional terms and conditions, and an additional 10 months for the promotion winner.
4.3. A customer is only eligible for this promotion if they sign up for broadband in the month of November 2022, they cannot have already had broadband with Electric Kiwi.
4.4. A customer is only eligible for this promotion if they were an Electric Kiwi power customer as at 1 November 2022 and if their account is not in arrears.
4.5. The winner will be randomly selected on or before 5 December 2022.
4.6. The prize is non-refundable should the customer leave before the competition of the 12 month and is non transferable to another account unless agreed to by Electric Kiwi.
4.7. An existing fibre connection to the property is required.
4.8. The prize is limited to 12 months of Broadband fees and charges (you will still be required to pay for the fees and charges for Electricity).
4.9. The prize will be applied to the account in the form of a credit against your broadband fees and charges.

5. Promotional special terms – Refer-a-friend (power only)
Effective from 1 August 2019 to 9 June 2023
These special terms apply to our customers who complete a Refer-a-friend join application or send a Refer-a-friend referral link.
5.1. Completing the Refer-a-friend join application or sending a Refer-a-friend referral link is deemed acceptance of these special terms.
5.2. The Refer-a-friend account credit is available to any customer (Referring Customer) with an active account and no overdue debt owing to us at the time the referral is sent.
5.3. The new customer referred to us (Referred Customer) must complete the Refer-a-friend join application and the sign up process via a unique website link made available to each Referring Customer. A Referred Customer can only be referred once.
5.4. The Refer-a-friend account credit will be applied as a single credit 30 days after the Referred Customer's switch to us is complete. Both the Referring Customer and the Referred Customer must be an active customer of ours 30 days after the Referred Customer's switch to us is complete for the account credits to be applied.
5.5. From time to time, we may place limits on the number of customers a Referring Customer may refer in a particular period.
5.6. Account credits can only be used to offset invoiced charges and are not transferable or redeemable for cash.
5.7. Any remaining account credit available at account closure will be forfeited.
5.8. If a Customer closes their account with us and re-joins within 12 months, the Refer-a-friend account credit will not be available.
5.9. If a Referred Customer closes their account with us within 3 months of joining, the Referred Customer will have their account credit reclaimed by us and we reserve the right to reclaim the Referring Customer's account credit.
5.10. We retain the right to determine whether a Refer-a-friend is genuine and valid at our sole discretion. Any Refer-a-friend links that have been published on a public forum will be deemed invalid. If a Refer-a-friend is deemed to be invalid, we can cancel the account credit at any time.
5.11. We abide by the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007 and any Customer must not use Refer-a-friend to engage in spamming activities.
5.12. The Refer-a-friend unique website link may be distributed by the Referring Customer to his or her friends. However, the Refer-a-friend unique website link must not be used in paid advertising, in any form, by the Referring Customer.
6. Promotional special terms – Refer-a-friend $75 (power and broadband)
Effective from 4 November 2022 to 9 June 2023
These special terms apply to our customers who complete a Refer-a-friend join application or send a Refer-a-friend referral link.
6.1. Completing the Refer-a-friend join application or sending a Refer-a-friend referral link is deemed acceptance of these special terms.
6.2. The Refer-a-friend account credit of $75 is available to any customer (Referring Customer) with an active account and no overdue debt owing to us at the time the referral is sent.
6.3. The new customer referred to us (Referred Customer) must complete the Refer-a-friend join application and the sign up process via a unique website link made available to each Referring Customer. A Referred Customer can only be referred once. To be eligible for this offer, a Referred Customer must sign up for broadband and power at the same time.
6.4. The Refer-a-friend account credit will be applied as a single credit 30 days after the Referred Customer's switch to us for broadband and power is complete. Both the Referring Customer and the Referred Customer must be an active customer of ours 30 days after the Referred Customer's switch to us is complete for the account credits to be applied.
6.5. From time to time, we may place limits on the number of customers a Referring Customer may refer in a particular period.

7. Win one of our Big Shouts!
Effective from 18 April 2023 until 30 June 2023

7.1. We are providing a Big Shout to nine existing Electric Kiwi power customers who switch to Electric Kiwi broadband from 18 April 2023 until 30 June 2023.
7.2. Notification of The Big Shout will be provided either electronically (email) or physically (mail).
7.3. A customer is only eligible for this promotion if they sign up for broadband from 18 April 2023 and 30 June 2023, they cannot have already had broadband with Electric Kiwi.
7.4. A customer is only eligible for this promotion if they were an Electric Kiwi power customer as at 18 April 2023 and if their account is not in arrears.
7.5. The winners will be randomly selected fortnightly (Fridays), starting on Friday 21 April 2023.
7.6. An existing fibre connection to the property is required.
7.7. If you are a winner, with your prior consent you may be mentioned within Electric Kiwi newsletters and social media.
7.8. We reserve the right to withdraw or amend the offer or offer period at any time.
8. Win $1000 cash when you sign up to EK Broadband
Effective until 29th December 2023.
Promotion
8.1. We are giving a $1000 cash prize to one existing Electric Kiwi broadband customer each month, until 29th December 2023. A winner will be drawn monthly, at the end of each month, until 29th December 2023.
8.2. A customer is only eligible for this promotion if they were an Electric Kiwi power and broadband customer on the last Friday of each month, and if their account is not in arrears.
8.3. The winners will be randomly selected on the last Fridays of each month.
8.4. Winner will be contracted either electronically (email) or physically (mail).
9. Solar Battery giveaway with ZEN Energy and Redback Technologies
Effective from 30 June 2023 until 11 August 2023

9.1. Validity: Competition open until 11 August 2023. In order to enter the competition, you must complete the specified survey accessed from the promotional campaign page.
9.2. Eligibility: This competition is only open to Electric Kiwi Solar customers who have had solar installed as at Friday 30 June 2023.
9.3
The prize for this competition is a Redback SH5000 hybrid inverter system with 7.1 kWh of energy storage (https://redbacktech.com/our-solutions/smart-hybrid/) , including installation.
9.4. Entrants must have an existing single-phase system (3-phase systems are excluded) and be prepared to replace your existing inverter if necessary. Your switchboard must be optimised for the installation and components, subject to a visual inspection by ZEN Energy’s professional team.
9.5. Exclusions: Micro-inverter users are not eligible due to compatibility issues with the new components.
9.6. The winner for the competition will be selected at our sole discretion based on the creativity of their answer to Question 14.
9.7. The competition ends on 11 August 2023. The winner will be notified within 7 days of the competition ending.
9.8. In order to claim the prize the winner must agree to:
- have the battery installed at their home as soon as reasonably possible;
- remain an Electric Kiwi customer for 12 months following installation of the battery (provided that any rates Electric Kiwi charges you will not be changed over that time);
- allow Electric Kiwi to control and optimise the battery to Electric Kiwi’s MoveMaster plan, using Redback’s system; and
- grant Electric Kiwi the right to use their consumption data for a case study.
9.9. If a selected winner does not agree to the above conditions Electric Kiwi reserves the right at its sole discretion to choose an alternative winner.
9.10. The prize is non-transferable and may not be substituted for cash.
9.11. We reserve the right to withdraw or amend the terms of this competition at any time.

10. Bali Bonanza Trip Giveaway
Promotion Summary
Electric Kiwi is giving away a 7 night holiday to Bali to 2 customers (who each can bring 4 friends or family), flying with Batik Air and staying at Club Med. Be in to win when you sign up to Electric Kiwi Power and/or Broadband by 26 April 2024.

10.1. Electric Kiwi Limited is running two promotions to give away a trip to Bali for an Electric Kiwi customer and 4 friends or family members.
10.2. Promotion 1 is available to customers who signed up to Electric Kiwi Power between 00:01am on 15th March 2024 and 11.59pm on 26th April 2024.
10.3. Promotion 2 is for existing Electric Kiwi power customers (who signed up to Power prior to 11.59pm on 14th March 2024) and signed up to Broadband between 00:01am on 15th March 2024 and 11.59pm on 26th April 2024. Customers who had Broadband previously and have rejoined are not eligible.

10.6. There are two prizes up for grabs. Each winner of Promotion 1 and Promotion 2 will receive (“Prize”):

Winning the prize
10.7. The Prize winner of each of Promotion 1 and 2 will be randomly selected on 29 April 2024 from all eligible customers.
General

The Prize is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash. The travel dates cannot be changed. If the winner is unable to redeem the Prize on the specific date, the Prize will be forfeit without any compensation.

Each winner and their companions are responsible for all costs and expenses not expressly included in the Prize, including without limitation, meals, transport and accommodation not otherwise included in the Prize, fuel, parking, additional flights, excess baggage or costs associated with any flight change(s), spending money, additional activities, personal expenses, visas (including any required transit visas for Australia), passports, other documentation and any other incidentals.

By accepting a Prize, to the maximum extent permitted by law, each winner and their companions agree to indemnify, release and hold harmless each Electric Kiwi, its related companies, its parent company, affiliates, directors, officers, employees and representatives against any and all liability, losses, demands, claims, actions, damages (including special, indirect and consequential damages), costs and expenses arising from or incurred, directly or indirectly, as a result of a winner’s acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the Prize, including without limitation, personal injuries, death and damage to personal or real property, due in whole or in part.

Each winner and their companions must sign a legal release, in a form acceptable to Electric Kiwi, at its absolute discretion, if requested by Electric Kiwi.

By accepting a Prize, each winner grants Electric Kiwi permission to use their names, characters, photographs, videos, voices and likeness in connection with the Promotion and for future promotion and marketing purposes and waive any claims to royalty, right or remuneration for such use.
11. Win a $100 power credit
Promotion
11.1. We are providing a $100 power credit to 50 existing Electric Kiwi power customers who reply ‘Yes’ to our SMS to voluntarily reduce their power usage on Friday 10 May 2024 from 7:00am-9:00am.
11.2. Notification of winning a $100 power credit will be provided via email.
11.3. A customer is only eligible for this promotion if:
- They receive an SMS on 9 May asking them to voluntarily reduce their power usage
- They reply ‘Yes’ to our SMS prior to 9:00am on 10 May
- We can verify that they actually reduced their usage from 7:00am-9:00am on 10 May. We’ll verify that you participated in reducing your usage by comparing your actual peak usage with your expected electricity usage patterns.
11.4. The winners will be randomly selected on Wednesday 15 May 2024 and will be notified by Friday 17 May 2024.
11.5. If you are a winner, your $100 credit will be applied as a credit to your power account on Friday 17 May. The $100 credit is not refundable or redeemable for cash. If you are in arrears, the credit will be used to offset some/all of your arrears before applying any remaining credit balance.
12. Be in to win one of 5 x $50 power credits.

13. Winter 2024 Free Modem Broadband Offering
Effective from 20 June 2024 to 31 July 2024

13.1. Free Netgear Orbi RBR350 modem for existing Electric Kiwi power customers as of 19th June 2024 who signed up to broadband with Electric Kiwi before 31st July 2024.
13.2. To be eligible for this offer:
- You may not have had broadband with Electric Kiwi previously
- You must already have fibre installed at your address.
13.3. A credit of $150 (Electric Kiwi’s usual price for a Netgear Orbi RBR350 modem) will be applied as a credit against your account to offset your invoice charge and can only be used to offset invoiced charges.
13.4. Account credit is not transferable or redeemable for cash. Any remaining account credit at account closure will be forfeited.
13.5. We reserve the right to withdraw or amend the offer or offer period at any time.

15. Evnex Smart EV Charger Bundle and Discount

Effective from 1 August 2024 post promotion of the 1st related challenge on social media.

17.1. Make a better “Bad Ad” video for Kiwi Mobile for one of the 4 Bad Ad challenges being run by Kiwi Mobile across August and September 2024 to be in the draw for one of 4 x $300 prezzy cards.
